Face It: Fuss Free Summer Look

My hubby and I went out yesterday to pick-up our iPhone unit in Globe store. Gosh! Our first unit flew to Apple in Singapore and undergone thorough inspection because we found dents and the right bottom glass hollows every time we hold it there. Finally, after almost four (4) freakin' weeks of waiting, Globe replaced our unit to a brand new one. Anyway, I came up with another look like here. Yap, because of the sweet comments you left from the "no make-up look" I've posted, I was inspired to document my look yesterday and thought of sharing it with you. Are you excited?

Well, every girl would love to hear compliments like: "did you put any make-up?" or "I like your make-up, it's simple yet you look so pretty." Of course, we want to look good without overdoing it and not obviously seeing the layers of make-up we've put on. In short, we want to look good in the simplest possible way. Most girls say it is very hard to pull a no make-up look. Okay, I count myself in. I can say it is hard because the more simple look I try to pull, the more I feel unattractive and looking washed-out and don't stand-out.

But I worry no more because I eventually learned to apply the simplest look and I can say I'm getting a pull of it using only the basic and few make-up products. Surprisingly, I love this kind of look especially now that summer is officially taking over. Well, hello to more humid weather! I can smell and feel it. Makes me long to go to the beach. Moving on, this is the season for me to skip applying foundation or BB Creams and just stick more to powders and bring "No Make-Up Look" on. Hmm... I think I am so ready now for the heat, are you?

How did I make this look? Keep reading lovelies.

Products I've used from top:
Palladium Natural Rice Powder in Natural, IN2IT waterproof eyebrow colour in ER 01 Eyebrowns, Shu Umemura Precise Volume Mascara Waterproof, IN2IT Waterproof Eyeliner in WE 06 Pearl, Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow in Nude, Revlon Colorburst in 035 Blush, & Avon Simply Pretty lip & cheek tint.

The look I created is like a 3-in-1. I unified three (3) make-up styles: Get Blushed All-DayBigger & Brighter Eyes and No Make-Up looks into one Fuss Free Summer Look. This is an easy style because you need not have to exert an effort to do so and take note that I used only the seven (7) products as seen in the photo above. Also a travel friendly kit, don't you think? So, let's get this on.

Get Blushed All Day
This Blushed All Day Look is a perfect look this summer. I don't like catching sun here in Manila but if I'm in Boracay, I really won't mind getting toasted lol. Anyway, this will make you looked like you've caught some sun without actually having a tan. This will give you healthy and glowing cheeks. I used Avon Simply Pretty lip & cheek tint to help me fake the "all-day permanent" blush.

I have oily skin. When my oil starts to come out after an hour, my solution to keep my face matte is the oil-control sheet. Then, after that I've got to check if my cheeks have still color because the oil will definitely melt down my powder blush. With that I have to put blush powder again and again. But with this cheek tint, I only have to apply once and it lasts throughout the day until I wash my face at night.

How-to: (1) Apply moisturizer. Wait until it is fully absorbed by the skin.
(2) Then, take your lip & cheek tint and apply small strokes onto cheeks levelled to your nose. My Avon tint is roll-on type, thus, the circle application. Using my ring finger, I dabbed the product gently on the same area until it fully dries and absorbed. Depending on your skin tone but I did it 3 times to achieve my desired effect.
(3) After that, I applied Natural Rice Oil Absorbing Powder all over my face.

Bigger & Brighter Eyes
My eyes aren't that small; nor big. But mine is hooded, so, I think it make my eyes smaller in some angle. I want my eyes look bigger and brighter. They said it will make you look innocent? Like! Well, I can make it by the help of white eyeliner because it extends the whites of your eyes, thus, the illusion of bigger and whiter eyes. However, some white eyeliner will turn you looking like a clown. So, before you buy white eyeliner, read these tips first:

Tip #1. If you have fair/ lighter skin tone, you can go for white eyeliner because the effect is more natural.
Tip #2. If you have medium or morena skin tone, go find a peach shimmery color or a flesh colored eye liner because that will look more natural following your skin tone. Avoid pure white eyeliner because it will look harsh on your eyes. You aren't going to a Cosplay or something, are you?

How-to: (1) This is optional. You can skip this and go straight to (2) but if you have some nude mattes, then do this. I applied Bobbi Brown in Nude onto my eyelids. This will give my eyes a bit of depth. Also my eyelids tend to get oily, too. So, when I had it set with this matte eye shadow, the oil won't be that of a problem at least.

(2) Do your eyebrows. Using my eye brow brush, I combined the lightest to medium shade of my IN2IT eye brow kit and apply it from the inner brow up to just before my arch. Then, I used the darkest shade to finish my brows. I tend to darken the tail of my brows because I have few tiny hairs left in there; just to balance my brows. Remember, our eyebrow is the frame of our face.

(3) Using my eye liner brush, I picked again the darkest shade from my eye brow kit or if you have dark brown eye shadow, that will do. I lined a wing from my outer eye going in.

(4) Then, I made thin strokes on lining my upper lash line. If you have small lid or a hooded lid like mine, you should line it very close as possible to your lashes.

(5) Apply the white eyeliner in your water line starting from the outer going in to the corner of your eyes. Then, apply it from the inner corners up to the 1/3 part of your lower lash line. Smudge it a bit. This will make your eyes look opened. This eyeliner I got from IN2IT is in Pearl. It's a flesh color or a hint of light peach. The soft shimmer shows up making your eyes looking sparkling.

(6) Lastly, use the left product on your eye liner brush and line your lower lash line starting from the outer eye going in up to 3/4 of the lash line. Then, blend it gently with the white eyeliner.

(7) Curl your lashes and apply your favorite mascara. I applied one coat only of Shu Uemura mascara.

No Make-Up Look
So, now that you've finally done the two, do not forget to apply your lip gloss or lipstick. Choose natural shades like light pink, nudes and corals. It's best to use a lipstick with moisturizer as the weather will come very hot; you don't want cracked lips are you? I used my Revlon Colorburst lipstick in Blush. The lipstick is moisturizing. Now, your No Make-Up look is complete.

Summer look should be light weight, radiant and looking fresh. Agree?

Whoah! My eyes didn't disappear completely when I fully laughed out. The trick worked on me indeed.

By the way, I DIY-ed this cropped denim vest. I love distressing fine clothes lol!

Fuss Free look, isn't it?

This look is also suited for everyday wear to work. To those girls out there that are newly graduated and hired and still holding on with their go-to-wear of just pressed powder, cheek tint and lip gloss or tinted lip balms; give this look a try. Also to those that are new to make-ups and those that aren't brave enough to wear colors yet. This look is also best for you women working in the office, definitely, this look will give you a fresh aura.

So, what do you think?

Face It: GREEN SMOKEY EYES

I spent my rainy and cold Sunday at my Mom's house. It's been long time since our last visit. Before we headed to their house, we dropped by at Greenhills Shopping Center to do a little bit of shopping and bought pasalubongs for my family. Yesterday, I rocked my Sunday with my Green Smokey Eyes and in this post; I will be sharing a tutorial on how I did it.

Green Smokey Eyes
I seldom do Smokey eyes because I always messed up and I cannot do a real nice one. But yesterday was considered a masterpiece (in my very own opinion hehehe) because my Smokey eyes rocked. I have learned other techniques or rather easy steps to create Smokey eyes without spending a lot of time creating a nice smoke one than resulting to horror, lols!

So, let's start beauties!

Prep your face.
Apply your moisturizer. After your skin absorbs it, apply BB Cream (well, this is optional). I used my angled foundation brush in applying the cream onto few parts of my face. Please see below my bare face with a pattern.

I do not apply BB cream all over my face because I don't need to. The patterns you see in the photo are most likely the temple parts that should be bright than the other parts because those parts are usually first seen by the people. Also it will give nice results in photos.

Then, using a large powder brush, apply your powder to set the cream and apply onto your whole face and don't forget your neck area.

Transform your eyes (refer to the photos).

These are the items I've used in creating the green Smokey eyes. You can choose a color of your choice. You just need 2 colors of eye shadows; a dark and a lighter one.

(No.1) Apply eye shadow base. I used my fingers in applying my base to make the product warm.
(No.2) Line your upper lid with a black pencil eye liner. Then, take your small brush, and smudge the pencil shade; brush it upwards.

(No.3) Using flat eye shadow brush, this is optional, I pat on first the black matte eyeshadow then I apply the dark shade (Exotic Green) onto lids following the form of your eye socket.

(No.4) Using a fluffy eye shadow brush, take a lighter shade (Mermaid Green). Close your eyes and gently poke the brush onto middle of your eye socket. Gently deepen your poke and slowly half-open your eye. Then, start sweeping your brush side by side to your inner corner to your outer corner of the eye.

Do it also on your other eye. See how the eye shadow smoked-out? It was neat and blended.

(No.5) Using again your fluffy eye shadow brush, apply your highlighter onto your brow bone and sweep it below your eyebrow down to your inner corners. Sweep softly to blend.

(No.6) Define your eyebrows. In my case, using a slanted eye liner/ eyebrow brush, I used an eyebrow powder kit.

(No.7) Line your lower 1/3 lash line with black eye pencil (its okay if its messy) starting from the outer corner of your eyes, then use a cotton bud to smudge the pencil shade.

(No.8) Using a small brush, apply the lightest shade (Mermaid Green) to set it.

 Use a Q-tip for a nicer smoke.
Line your upper and bottom waterline with black eye pencil.

(No.9) Curl your lashes and apply your favorite mascara. I apply 3 coats of very black mascara. Don't forget to put any shimmery white eye shadow in your tear duct area to pop your eyes more.

Here are shots of the finished product:

Semi-closed eyes

Half-opened eyes

Full-opened eyes

So, now that you're done with your Smokey eyes, clean any fall-outs of eye shadows. In my case, I used my large powder brush again with a powder on it and I brushed out the fall-outs.

Next thing is the rest of the face. Below is the photo of the products I've used.

(No.10) Apply your favorite blush on. I used Spice of NYX.
(No.11) Line your lips will natural color.
(No.12) When you do Smokey eyes, it is best to have nude lips. Apply nude lipstick. I used Blush of Revlon Colorbursts Lipstick.
(No.13) Top it off with a nude lip gloss also. Apply it in your lower middle lips then pout once.

I have no available any green tees to wear yesterday but I think this blue green tee worked anyway.

Hope this tutorial helps. Until my next post beauties.

Much love,

Jenniya

Face It: Get Glam This Holiday Season with NYX Cosmetics

Happy Holidays! I missed blogging a lot. I've been very busy lately "making" money to spend this  holiday season hahaha. Thanks God for all the blessings. Whoah! Christmas is just 4 days away and yes, of course, Christmas Party is happening left and right, people are very busy going to the malls and what else shall I say? The result is a very heavy traffic! Hehehe...

Speaking of Christmas Party, I really miss attending a Christmas Party. Ever since I decided to go Freelancer, I haven't got the chance to attend Christmas Parties. The last party I've attended was from my previous work years ago. *Sniff sniff... I miss the Angels hehehe...

Today, I want to share with you the FOTD (Face Of The Day) I made which I think would help you prettify yourself in attending your Christmas Party with not spending much going to a salon to have your hair and make-up done.

You can use your available make-ups if you have a similar color with what I have used in this tutorial. I used inexpensive imported cosmetics named NYX. This is also locally available by an online reseller but I got mine by ordering through CherryCulture.com online. I love NYX because aside from its cheap price, they've got colors that are really great to play with. But I already stopped buying cosmetics online because aside from I already have enough make-ups; the customs duties and taxes really, really SUCKS! If I needed to have some again, I would purchase to a local online reseller (a lot in Multiply site).

 Oh I love the colors!

____________________________________________________________________________
Step 1.)
To start with, moisturize your face first so the cream foundation will smoothly glide on when applied. I'm using Clean & Clear Oil Free Moisturizer. Apply a small amount onto your clean face and neck.

Step 2.)
Apply the Etude House BB Cream onto face and neck using an angled foundation brush.

...oO0Oo...
Step 3.)
Set your foundation with powder. I'm using Natural Rice Oil Absorbing Powder in Natural. I used a large foundation brush to apply the powder onto face and neck.

...oO0Oo...
Step 4.)
Apply an eye shadow base to make your eye shadow last longer and make the color more vibrant. I used NYX eye shadow base in Skintone. Apply it onto lid up to the brow bone. Use your smallest finger to spread the cream on your lids. Also apply a little in your lower lashline, too.

...oO0Oo...
Step 5.)
Lined your eye brows. Well, this is optional. You can do your brows later on. I used IN2IT eye brow powder.

...oO0Oo...
Step 6.)
Using the eye shadow brush, I picked the silver labeled as ES26 from my NYX palette. I applied it onto my eye lids starting from the outside corner of my eyes outward leaving the outer crease area. See the whole palette below so you can recognize which color I am pertaining to.

Step 7.)
Using the eye blending brush, I picked from my NYX palette a royal blue color labeled as ES24 and applied it in the outer-V and crease area.

...oO0Oo...
Step 8.)
Using a fluffy eye shadow brush, I picked a shimmery white eye shadow labeled as ES21. I applied it onto my brow bone sweeping it down to the corner of my eyes.

...oO0Oo...
Step 9.)
Using an eye blending brush, I picked Blue-black color labeled as ES30 from the palette and applied it onto my outer-V in circular motion and blend it inwards and onto the crease area with the royal blue color.

Step 10.)
Line your eyes. I used IN2IT liquid eye liner in Black. Apply it closely in the lash line. You can wing it a bit at the end if you want.

...oO0Oo...
Step 11.)
Using a flat eye liner brush, I picked the blue-black color from the palette and applied it onto the lower lash line up to 2/3 area. Then, I lined my water line with IN2IT eye liner pencil in Black. Curl your lashes and apply your favorite mascara. I used IN2IT water proof mascara in Black.

...oO0Oo...
Step 12.)
Contour your cheeks if necessary. Photo below are the blusher, powder and bronzer from my NYX palette. Using my flat-top bronzer brush, I picked B6 and applied it to my cheeks starting from the side of my ear down to the hollow of my cheeks. This will make your face look thinner. Then, I picked B3 and applied it in the apple of my cheeks bringing it up to my highest cheek bones. Then, I blend it over to my hollows, jaw bone and to the chin bone.

...oO0Oo...
Step 13.)
Lastly, apply your favorite lippie. I used my Revlon Colorburst lipstick in Blush. Then, I top it off with shimmery lipgloss.

So, that's it! You're done now with your make-up. It's time to make your hair a do! So, go grab your curling iron and set your loose curls!

I hope this make-up tutorial helps. It's just a basic but then, simple strokes of make-up will make you pretty. Agree? Thanks for reading beauties!

Smile and stay tuned.
