REVIEW: HUMAN HEART NATURE Balancing Facial Wash

I've heard and seen Human Heart Nature products from the other beauty blogs. Honestly, I considered myself ignorant when it comes to natural products. So, when I saw Human Heart Nature in Beauty Bar, I can't help myself but spared long minutes scrutinizing it. I felt the urge to try one of their products and so, I picked one.

The Product

Human Heart Nature Balancing Facial Wash

This product claims:
99.85% Natural | For OILY or COMBINATION skin
It’s time to break free from break outs! Keep oil under control with the improved Balancing Facial Wash - nature’s blend of manila elemi, prized ingredient revered by the world’s beauty industry, and marine extractsfor shine-free, glowing skin. Infused with sugar beet and aloe vera to help replenish lost moisture while bamboo scrubs and loofah gently exfoliate clogged dirt and trapped oil.
So stay away from chemical soaps that can strip your face of its natural moisture barrier, causing it to produce even more oil. Your skin deserves a gentle yet effective facial wash that doesn’t make your skin say “Ouch!” Now you’re free to reveal clearer, fresher, healthier skin!

Elemi & Orange for Oily & Combination Skin
I saw only two (2) variants of facial wash available in the display but when I checked on Human Heart Nature website, I found out it is available in three (3) variants - Hydrating Creamy Wash (for Dry or Mature Skin), Nourishing Facial Wash (for Normal or Sensitive Skin) and Balancing Facial Wash (for Oily or Combination Skin). These are available in two (2) sizes; a 50 ml and a 200 ml. I got the small one which costs Php85.00 but I found out from their website that this bottle is priced at Php79.75 and oh, good news because they are having now a special offer of Php69.75 only! How cool is that eh?

I like:
... 100% No Harmful Chemicals.
... 99.85% Natural Ingredients.
... It has a citrus scent.
... Natural, gentle scrubs & beads.
... Clear bottle packaging .
... Clear content.
... It minimize shine on my face.
... It dries up pimples fast.
... It dispense just the right amount from the bottle.

I don't like:
... Hard to shake when it was still full.

Jenniya Say:
I love that this facial wash is clear and it housed in a transparent bottle. When I saw the green scrubs which are bamboo scrubs & loofah and the white micro beads which are sugar beets & aloe vera, I suddenly imagined how good it feels to get gently scrubbed by it especially that it is natural. I am fond of using products with beads, so I was sold. Actually, I always got sold of anything that promise gentle exfoliation.

I am impressed of this facial wash. It leaves a shine-free face after washing. No sign of oil at all. I really felt squeaky-cleaned. The oil starts to appear after an hour but it was lesser than usual. Also I noticed that my face is clearer now, less oilier and it wasn't that nasty to look at when the oil take the stage again to shine. Lol! I think the Vitamin C from the Orange worked well to clear out my skin. And the most amazing thing it did on my skin was it dried up my pimples very fast! You know, I recently had my hair trimmed (slashed-style) and got bangs for a change. Since then, I developed small pimples or rather sharp blemishes on my forehead and on my jaw line and I know it was because of my hair; the tips touches my jaw line as well my bangs touches my forehead. When I started using this Balancing Facial Wash, the pimples dried up very fast and vanished in 2 days. Of course, I managed my hair away from my jaw line and I clipped my bangs, too, and that helps anyway.

I used this facial wash 2 times a day; morning and at night. The pea-sized amount is enough for the face and neck. I wet my face first and squeeze out the product onto my palm. I apply the product onto my nose, cheeks, forehead, chin and my neck. Then, I gently massage it in circular motion. The watery-gel texture turned into a thin foam. The green scrubs and white beads are very gentle onto skin I swear. And the scent? I could not help myself but sniff the sweet and refreshing citrus scent of it. I have used this for about 2 weeks now and I never had a break-out yet (crossing fingers not to happen please). I think this product suit my skin. And oh, as far as I remembered, this is my first natural product I've ever used to my skin specifically to my face. Because of this good experience, I got curious and wanted to know more about natural products. Good thing, my curiosity has been answered by browsing Human Heart Nature website and I am satisfied with the knowledge I got. I am amazed of how they make use of nature's best by using natural ingredients in all of their products.

Anyway, I think every product has a downside and this has it but nothing major; just pretty minor. It's hard to shake the bottle when it was full; it created a lot of tiny bubbles. The white beads that settled at the bottom didn't moved at all even I shook it hard. But when I've consumed about 15% of the bottle which gave enough space and air in the bottle, I was able to shake it and finally, the beads at the bottom went up and floated together with the green scrubs.

Jenniya rate this product:
4.5 out of 5. Good.

I also wanted to try the Balancing Face Toner but it was out of stock the same time I bought the facial wash. You can buy Human Heart Nature products in Beauty Bar branches or buy directly from the Human Heart Nature online store. To know more about their products, click here and here.

NOTD: Caronia in Summer Fling + TIPS

That rain a few days back is a sign that we have to bid goodbye to summer soon. Oh no, not yet. I'm still  enjoying wearing pastels and comfy outfits like shorts & tees, so please do not come so soon rainy season. But let's admit, that rain was helpful eh? It cool down and subsided the heat in the metro. Whew!

Since, summer is ending soon, I want to show you my few nail posts as my last hurrahs for summer. I decided to countdown on my own, so let me call this post the #3 last hurrah in my list, so expect there will be #2 & of course, #1 hurrahs. Excited?

Caronia in Summer Fling

This nail polish has been with me since July 2011. Yeap, I remember the date and will never ever forget because the first time I used this polish was during the SMART Ultimate All-Star Weekend in the Araneta Coliseum featuring the PBA All-Star and of course, NBA Superstars Kobe Bryant KB24, D.Rose, CP3, J.Harden, and many more (there were 9 of them). It was our third (3rd) time to see Kobe Bryant in person and it has been always felt like heaven.

This shade is a bit darker in person. The photo above is 1 shade lighter. I don't know but I noticed that even my SLR camera can't take the real color of any of the nail polishes. I used my iPhone 5 in taking these shots without using flash beside my window under natural lighting. If I used flash, it will show its truest color but I am not really fond of it, so be these photos speak itself. Oh the second to the last photo before the end of this post is the nearest, almost exactly the Summer Fling in person. You'll find out when you scroll down later.

Summer Fling on my nails with 2 coats. Excuse that little hump on my middle finger nails. That part was accidentally scraped by the edge of paper, so I had to top that part (only) again with the polish.

As I've said, this polish has been with me for long already. I bought this polish together with the Caronia in On The Go and I can say that formulation of this batch is very good. The shade is very opaque with just 1 coat. This shade still impressed me. And since this polish aged with me already, it gets dry and sticky very fast during the application. I do not have solvent with me at the moment (poor me). So, every after two nails, I have to close the cap tightly and roll the bottle onto my palms.

By the way, if you have old nail polishes and out of solvent, below are some TIPS:

Tip #1.) Do not shake the bottle by hitting onto your palms; it will create bubbles when the polish is applied.
Tip #2.) Roll the bottle onto your palms instead. The warmth of our palms will cause heat and this will liquify again the dry/ sticky polish. Hence, application is precise and easy then.

And another thing, Caronia nail brush is short and small, thus, it never flared widely especially with these old polishes; it gets so streaky, dried, create ugly humps and resulted to uneven application. Have you experienced this? I have another TIP for you below especially to those with long nails.

I've learned these TIP from my Mom. She used to have a salon before during her 30's to late 40's, so she knew a lot about nail polishes. I think this will do not only for the old polishes but to any polishes, may it brand new or not. Usually, if the nail polish started to get dry and sticky, when you brush the polish from your top cuticle down, sometimes the polish can't reach the tip anymore resulted to an ugly long sharp streaks.

Okay, here's what to do as shown in the photo above:
Step #1.) Load the brush and apply it first on the 1/3 part of your nail down to tip.
Step #2.) Then, load it again with a polish and apply it from the top cuticle down to tip. Do the middle part first then both sides.

This tip requires you to make 2-3 coats application. After doing the Step #1 & #2, you will see a slight hump but don't you worry. On your second coating, apply the polish as you normally do. Apply it from the top down to tips and you'll get an even result. Trust me it works!

See? It's just a very little difference from the rest of the photos but this is the exact, almost the same color in person. By the way, I didn't put top coat onto my nails. The shine you see is just reflection from my window. This shade fall on cool tones but surprisingly, it still suits my warm skin tone. What do you think?

This nail post reminded me of the outfit I wore when we went North 2 weeks ago. This is a perfect match to my shoes and will complement with my dress then. And because of that, I did a nail art following Complementary Scheme I pulled with that outfit. I will post that nail art soon. So, watch out for it.

I hope you enjoyed reading my #3 Last Hurrah for Summer and hope those TIPS helps. I will post #2 & #1 soon. I'm excited to share it with you lovelies. Oh don't forget to Like & Follow Caronia here, here & here.

Product Review: CARMEX Moisturising Lip Balm

How do you keep your lips soft and supple?

I have natural wrinkled lips. Mine has these obvious lines. That's why I can't leave home without putting on lipstick to cover my lip's imperfections. I'm using petroleum jelly to moisturize it and whenever I feel that my lips are getting too dry (I have lots of big jars of it given to me by my brother from KSA). But just 2 weeks ago when I bought matte lipsticks that I was obliged to apply petroleum jelly from time to time (of course I'm just doing it if I'm just home). Matte lipsticks has dry formulas and literally, it can make your lips dry so whenever you are going to use mattes then you should apply lip balms or in my case, I used petroleum jelly prior to application of any matte lipsticks. But honestly, I am not fond of its smell; it smells gas. And I am not fond either of usual lip balms with tints.

I've read about Carmex lip balm. They said it's the best lip balm. I've read a lot of it from the other beauty bloggers so I think of giving a try this lip balm but I don't know where to buy it because I don't see it in any Watsons store. But last weekend, my hubby and I were in Greenbelt to watch movie and I was very happy to see a very big advertisement of the Carmex in the window glass of First Aid store. It was beside the Power MAC Centre near the escalator.

Of course, I didn't let the chance passed and I went inside the store. I discovered that Carmex lip balm has 3 different packaging: a stick, a tube and a jar; all priced at P99.75 only.

I opted to get one in jar because I used lip balm when I'm just home. I don't use it when I'm out because I always have my lipstick on. Plus, this one in jar contains a lot more product so you get the most of your money's value.

By the way, when I was there standing in front of the lip balms section, there was this scent that I fell in love with (I can't figure out what scent it is when I was there) and I thought of maybe that came from the other lip balm brands with lots of varieties of flavours. It was when I got home when I realized that the scent was actually from the Carmex that I bought. It has a Vanilla scent. I never thought it has vanilla fragrance because it never stated in the top label that it is flavored or what but just "original formula", that's it. But if you scrutinize the ingredients, it stated there it has Vanillin and fragrance.

When I first opened the jar, I smelled two; a mixed of Vanilla and Menthol. I use my pinky to get product's amount and applied onto my lips. I slowly felt the tingling effect right after. I just continued applying more of the product on. Then, I know that the menthol was evenly distributing to each of the affected areas because the tingling sensation intensifies even more. Then, after a minute my lips got numb and I feel that my lips pouted; like I was imagining I have very full lips like Angelina Jolie, lols! I was scared. I thought I may be allergic to their ingredients. But then, the tingling effect and numbness was slowly fading and gone after 10-12 minutes. I guess that is how it works. I mean, that is how this Carmex lip balm relieves dry lips. Also, Carmex will leave you sheen and last longer than of petroleum jelly that gets dried up on the lips after an hour.

First application - See how how wrinkled my lips are? I applied a generous amount using my finger. I love that it's colorless. Plus points for me.

After 6 hours, I applied again before going to bed. The photo above was taken after 11 hours from my last application, my lips were obviously soft; not dry. It moisturized my lips very well, agree? The lines got minimized. See the big change within 24 hours? Woaah!

I still feel the same tingling effect when I had my 2nd and 3rd application but no more numbness. It is because of the menthol but not too long and it always faded. I think you will feel these effects every time you use the product. I can say my lips are now better than before. Well, the photo speaks for it.

For now, I love this Carmex lip balm. I know, it's too early for the verdict but this product is really amazing! This product works with me. Yey! I have read some blog post that this product didn't work with them. I will edit this post in the future and add if I have additional pros and cons about this product.

Until my next post beauties.

Much love,

Jenniya

Hair Care: L'Oreal Elseve Smooth Intense Nutri-Smoothing Mask

Remember this post? So you think I religiously did it, huh? Sorry I didn't coz I should have finished that one (1) tub in 3-4 months only but hey, I'm just about to finish my tub only this month hehehe. One (1) more used then I'm done with the tub. Yes, and I'm feeling guilty of not taking special care to my hair. I am lazy dog!

I bought a new L'Oreal Elseve Smooth Intense Nutri-Smoothing Mask. Do you know how much is it now? It is only PhP250.00 compared to my last purchased which is PhP375.00. Good buy eh?

I saved PhP125.00. Yey!
I asked the SA (Sales Assistant) why it is cheaper now, she just said it is because they changed the packaging. Lols! Is she pulling my leg? What a nice answer eh? It's like asking her name and answered she's 21 years old hehehe. Anyway, sometimes it pays if you tried it yourself the product na lang. I'm just confused what the sudden drop of the price is and I can't avoid thinking if it is the same content of the tub. I've checked the ingredients, labels, etc. and nothing changed though. It is only the packaging.

Left: New packaging. Right: Old packaging.
This is to compare the old packaging to the new one. You should notice that the color of the new packaging is darker. Plus, the Anti-Frizz Mask was changed to Nutri-Smoothing Mask. It has the same job though.

I really love the scent.

Yey! I realized that my hair grown long unnoticeable. Uh-oh, L'Oreal has nothing to do if my hair grows fast or slow, lols! I must say how L'Oreal works on my hair.

Likes:
o It has heaven scent.
o Does its job really well.
o Got results in just first application.
o Really has smooth hair after it dries.
o Hair smoothness lasted in one (1) week.

Dislikes:
o It makes my scalp itchy in the 1st and 2nd day after wash.
o It caused me dandruff from 1st to 2nd day after wash.
o My hair feels heavy in the 1st day after wash.

Verdict:
o I love it. I can stand with the itch. It just occurs very seldom in a day though. I will not get tired of using this product.

How about you? Are you doing also a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) treatment to your hair at home? By the way, I used it once a week but sometimes once in every 2 weeks. Depends if I'm not getting lazy hehehe. It is applied like a conditioner. After shampooing and rinsing your hair, squeeze out the water excess from your hair or you can dampen it with a towel then applied an ample amount. Leave it for 2-3 minutes as instructed in the tub but what I always do is leaving it for 10 minutes hehehe, then rinse off. Well, nothing harm happened to my hair though.

Smile always and stay tuned.

When I opened the sachet of this mud masque, the aroma was so very sweet. So yummy scent that I wanted to eat it hehehe. It smells like a real chocolate I swear! I want to lick it, lol! The content was really like a chocolate, it's so soft and very easy to apply on the face. See?

It's Hair Care Time with L'OREAL

I got my hair treated in a salon a week before my hubby's sister's wedding (March 25). I'm so happy with the result. I got a very smooth and shiny hair. I paid P699.00 for the treatment. But my lovely hair lost the applied treatment and lost the hair moisture & shine when we hit the beach for 5 days in Puerto Galera last March 28- April 1.

I noticed that since we got home from the beach, my hair is very dry now and frizzy. Yeah, the beach really damaged my hair. If I will get this treated in a salon, it will cost me much again. So, I went to Watson's and checked out on their hair treatments. I've seen this L’Oreal Elseve Smooth Intense Anti-Frizz Mask.

In the label, it’s indicated that it treats dry, frizzy and rebellious hair. I compared other hair treatments that are inexpensive over L’Oreal but I end up buying L’Oreal. Anyway, it's the brand, no question for that. Let's see!

P375.00 - 200 ml. This product is promising to calm, nourish and smooth-en your hair.

I'm so excited to use it and so, I get showered when I got home. After shampooing my hair and squeezed out the excess water and dampened my hair a little, I scooped an ample amount (as seen on the photo) using a spatula from the tub, pressed my both palms to scattered it, then applied it to my hair just like an ordinary conditioner. Massage it to my scalp gently. I put on more amounts to the tips of my hair. I leaved it on for 2 minutes and rinsed it. My hair is so soft and I really love touching it while rinsing. The scent? Oh, I love it!
I dried up my hair in front of the electric fan using a comb. Wow! I'm so happy with the result. My hair is not dry anymore! Yeah, I got results on my first time of using. See my photos below:

with flash                       without flash

Hahaha... I don't know why my hair in the first photo looks brownish maybe because of the flash. My hubs said my hair get shiny and very smooth. Yay! He loves touching it, too! I will use this once a week and will give updates and results after a month.
