NOTD: Floral Print Nail Art

Before we finally bid goodbye to summer, here's my final installment of my last hurrah for summer posts. Have you seen my #3 & #2 yet? Anyway, I used Caronia nail polishes and KONAD again to do this nail art.

Floral Print Nail Art

I actually made this when I did the Summer Fling nail post here. Then, I decided to do nail art right after. I thought Summer Fling was a good canvass for a nail art. Here's another simple tutorial for you lovelies:

L - R: First Crush, Kiwi & Summer Fling

Step #1. Apply 2 coats of Summer Fling. Let it dry.

Step #2. Using my KONAD, I chose this set of 4 flowers in the plate. For stamping tutorial, click here.

Step #3. After stamping on all nails, take any of the two polishes - Kiwi or First Crush. Drop a little amount onto old CD or a plastic (I used my KONAD plate). Using the toothpick, dip in onto polish and fill in the center of the flowers. Depend on how many flower you made, just make it sure it is balance.

Step #4. After filling in the polishes, let it dry for 30 minutes or longer before topping it off with a top coat. Why? Because even though it is just some kind of a point, the amount in it is thicker, hence, surface is dry but the inside isn't. Same with the flowers I stamped, it needs a longer time of drying or else, everything will be ruined. Trust me.
Ta-Da!

And there you go, my #1 last hurrah for summer - Floral Print Nail Art. I hope you find this tutorial helpful. Until next time!

NOTD: Rainbow Spotted Nail Art

Last Sunday, I had fun with my hubby's clan. We had a swimming activity somewhere in North and I can say that I enjoyed so much the Tsunami wave because I feel body aches now. Lol. Hmm... lack of exercise I know. Anyway, in connection with the last nail post, today I will share to you my #2 last hurrah for summer.

Rainbow Spotted Nail Art

If you follow me on Instagram, you'd probably guess upon seeing this photo that this is what I come up with the 5 shades of nail polishes I posted in IG. During the times that I can't think of any original nail art ideas, there's only one YouTube channel I ran to - cutepolish. I have recreated a few of her nail arts like Minnie Mouse, Kiwi, Newspaper & Polka Dots. This time, I've recreated her Rainbow Spotted.

I did this nail art prior to the family activity. Honestly, this is the easiest nail art I did as far as I remember because I just made dots. Trust me it's that easy. Now, check your nail polishes and pick the rainbow shades. Good thing I have Caronia shades which perfectly suit for this nail art. As promised, here's an easy tutorial for Rainbow Spotted Nail Art.

L - R: First Crush, Blueberry, Sweet Surprise, Kiwi, Summer Fling & White Satin

Step #1. Apply 2 coats of White Satin onto the nails. Let it dry.

Step #2. Get a toothpick and old CD. In my case, I used my nail art plate. Put a small amount of First Crush (nail art here) on the plate and dip the toothpick. Then, dot it onto the nail. Create small & big dots starting from the top cuticle. Just estimate to dot about 20% of the nail.

Step #3. Same as the Step #2, do it with Blueberry (nail art here), & Kiwi (nail art here). Do not forget to dot in estimate up to 20% part of nail only so you can apply five (5) polishes. TIP: Use both end of the toothpick for bigger and smaller dots.
I actually thought of stopping here since I find this a pretty simple nail art and it looks so clean but then, I continued dotting. I took a picture of it however for you to see some options.

Step #4. Finish making dots of Sweet Surprise and Summer Fling. The latter instantly lifted all the colors. Agree?

Step #5. Let all the dots to dry. I t will took up to 30 minutes because of the thick dots. Make sure when you put the top coat, the last dots you made on the nail tips are dry already or else your precious nail art will be ruined. It happened to my one pinky nail; the Summer Fling wasn't totally dry and it cling to the nail brush of the top coat.

If you've watched cutepolish tutorial, she actually used 6 polishes but I do not have an Orange one so I omit that, hence, I used only five polishes.

I took this picture when hubby and I sat down on the grass near our rented cottage. My skin was obviously dried up from the chlorine of the pool. If you'll take a closer look, my cuticles around my nails are obviously flaking. By the way, all the pictures were taken using iPhone 5.

What do you think of this nail art?

NOTD: O.P.I. in Privacy Please (Perfect Nude)

The other day, I googled images of nude make-ups in the internet. I was looking for an inspiration and planning to recreate any that I might like. I have saved some images and hopefully I can recreate one of those or I may post a tutorial soon. Since I am in nude make-ups mode, I think I should wear nude nail polish, too, to complete the look.

Since painting nail is as easy as 1-2-3, I will do a nail post first before the make-up look. I stared at this O.P.I. nail polish and imagined myself in a corporate world again where black, white and neutral color is a must. Though nudes/ neutrals are understated colors, you can never go wrong with them. It is very versatile. You can wear this shade in any occasion. A safe color I must say.

O.P.I. in Privacy Please

I haven't posted a review of any O.P.I. nail polishes I owned but let me take the opportunity now to say how much I love O.P.I. I really love its brush; it is wide. The moment I stroke the brush onto my nail, the brush flared widely and easily turned to a fan-like and distributes the polish onto my nail in one stroke. Wow.

This nude shade is more like a very light baby pink in person. You'll mistakenly thought it's just your normal nail in a glance but you'll figure that it is not because of its polished  and satin-looking finish.

Privacy Please on my nails with 4 coats, no top coat.

Well, just like other nail polish brands, this has some downside. It streaks like forever. Lol. I kid. For the first 2 coats, streaks are very disappointing to see. I did 3-coats; na-da. Finally, at 4 coats, I was contented though I still saw some light streaks but decent enough.

I love how it made my hand looking healthy as well. The edges are clean, so tidy! This shade is a perfect nude. Not too light, not too dark. Some nude polishes are tan-like or light-brown which will definitely make my hand look darker for sure.

Before I end this post, let me greet all the Moms out there most especially to the beautiful woman I know - Happy Mother's Day, Mamang! Today, we will be having lunch with my in-laws to treat hubby's Mom and later I'm gonna make a phone call to my Mamang to greet her in this special day. My Mom is living outside Metro Manila and I can't wait to treat her out to a date as well.

All photos are taken using iPhone 5. Anyway, I hope you find this post worth reading. Do you like nude polishes?

NOTD: Caronia's First Crush + Konad

When was the last time I posted a nail art? Last one was this and I reviewed the summer collection "Expressions" from Caronia here. I missed doing nail arts but it seemed that my time didn't let me to do one. But yesterday, I was able to squeezed in a nail art right after our appointment in Ortigas. Yeap, I work even on Sundays.

Caronia nail polish in First Crush (Regular)

Do I need say more? Yeap, I'm addicted to anything pastel. I'm embracing the summer colors obviously. This nail polish have sat in my mani/pedi bag for long time already and have used this once only as far as I remember. I love the consistency of this shade. I applied 2 coats only and I'm really loving the result; so opaque. A smirk was drawn on my face when I read the shade's name - First Crush. No wonder Caronia named this shade as First Crush because this Lavender speaks sweetness and innocence. So youthful! I love it! I suddenly tried to remember who my first crush was. Hmm... I totally don't remember at all. Haha. How about you?

Since I barely have the time and laziness gotten me almost every time I thought of making nail art, I looked for my KONAD Stamping Nail Art. It's been ages since my last time using KONAD and honestly, I miss it. So timely for moments like: "gusto ko ng nail art pero tinatamad ako. Waaahh!". Lol.

KONAD Stamping Nail Art

I bought this KONAD last April 2010. Obviously, when I started blogging. See my step-by-step tutorial in using this kit here. This is very easy to use and time-saving, too.

Ta-da!

I chose this design over the flowers because I somehow feel overwhelmed already of anything summer-y but hey, I am not complaining. I don't know what this called but it looks like a fireworks. Is it? Huh! That's what you get when you choose things randomly; to figure what the hell it is and have a hard time thinking what to call it. But nevertheless, I find it cute and unique yet simple nail art.

(Sorry, this photo is over-exposed. I used my iPhone 5 for all the photos in this post and these were all taken beside my window under natural light).

So, there you go. A plain polished nails; or...

... with a cute nail art.

Don't forget to comment lovelies. I have ongoing activity here in IamJenniya - Be the Reader of the Month for May. Leave some love. Have a good week ahead lovelies!

What do you think?

NOTD: Express Yourself with Caronia's Expressions Collection

The day I got the courage to wear bikinis, I learned to love summer more than any season and embrace the hot weather. It is only during summer that I can totally express myself and be loud and be... sexy. It is like having a full freedom to have fun. I love beach and hitting Boracay Island is No.1 in my list. I've been to Boracay for so many times already and I really hope to be back there before summer gets over. I miss the sand in my feet and I miss the sun bathing. I miss wearing my bikinis. Seriously.

When Caronia released their new Summer Collection last March 2013, I get really excited to see pastel, fresh and soft colors in it. So, when Caronia contacted me last week that they will send me over their Expressions Collection, I was very happy and felt grateful. Thank you so much Caronia!

CARONIA Nail Polish
"Expressions" Collection

The "Expressions" Collection has an assortment of light and cool colors just perfectly right in expressing yourself. First is Rosy Glow, a soft pink shade with just hint of violet for a subtly sexy naughty-or-nice appeal. Then, there's Fresh Mint, a light green polish that makes you look refreshingly cool and sporty. And lastly, there's Blue Chill in a pale blue shade for that mysterious yet classy look.

As Olive Bolico, Caronia Brand Manager, says: "We believe that we can use colors to express our moods and personalities. It's not always about what's good for your skin tone, or if it matches your outfit for the day. Sometimes, it's also fun to step out of your comfort zone once in a while and try a new shade on. You just might be surprised how well it suits you."

Rosy Glow complement my Mint Green floral bikini.
This shade set my mood sexy. I applied 2 coats and I was impressed with opacity this shade has. My hand looked darker with this shade but heck, the more you looked tan this season, the more you are in. Agree?

Fresh Mint complement, of course, Pink or Red Pink bikini.
This shade set my mood freshly. I applied 2 coats but I can still see streaks, so I think applying 3 coats would have an opaque result. I also noticed that Fresh Mint has a very tiny sparkles when I removed the polish. I think that explains why the consistency is a bit runny compared to Rosy Glow. This made my hand looked fairer and this is my favorite among the three.

Blue Chill complement my stripe Orange bikini.
This shade set my mood young and free. I applied 3 coats onto my nails but I can still see streaks but unnoticeable since it is a frosted shade. I'm not fond of frosted but the soft powder blue shade made the exemption.

These three (3) polishes are secondary colors that obviously complement my Mint, Salmon, Lemon, Lilac & Powder Blue bikinis. If you want these "Expressions" polishes to match with primary colors, then check if you have Green, Orange, Yellow, Violet & Blue swimwear. These shades remind me of Marshmallows, too. Agree?

I tried a combination of these 3 polishes and it turned out all nice and pretty. What do you think?

NOTD: O.P.I. Your Villa or Mine?

Last Saturday, I took photos of my painted nails using my iPhone. I was testing the quality of photos that this amazing phone (yet) claims. So far, I can say that the quality is very good and is comparable to slr photos. As I was drying up my nails, my phone rang. I had an urgent appointment with a client. Even if I was so lazy to go out that afternoon because the sun was unforgiving; I cannot turn down the oppurtunity. So even if I had only an hour to meet him, I got myself ready and I bravely commute going to Ortigas Center (I'm car less because my hubby was out). I arrived in our agreed meeting place 10-minutes early. But the moment I arrived, he sent a sorry message informing me that he will be late. Oh great, just great. Lol!

Well, there's nothing better to do while waiting but tinkering on my iPhone. I took advantage of the 1-hour free time and I've learned some things on how I can maximize the usage of this amazing phone. By the way, all photos in this post are taken by iPhone and I really love the results. I am planning to take outfit shots outdoor using this, too.

So, is it Your Villa or Mine? What's with the name of this O.P.I. nail polish? Haha. Would you believe that I own this O.P.I. nail polish for over 2 years already? But this is just my 3rd time using this. Oh why? Because I thought this color make my hands look darker. The first time I used this was when my big brother arrived from KSA and our whole family stayed in a hotel; my Mom tried this on me. The second time was last year during summer and yesterday was just the third time. I find this color perfect to be worn during summer because of its coral-ish color (if there's a word). It has pink and orange hues with micro gold shimmers. But you know, I realized yesterday that this color suits my skin tone however. Or maybe I get 2x lighter because since last month, I managed not to get direct exposure from the sun.

Applied 1-coat only.

Applied 2-coats.

2-coats with top coat.

Surprisingly, this nail polish didn't changed its consistency. It didn't dried up I swear. It didn't bubbled either when applied. When I took this out of my drawer, it looks like a make-up remover ; the oil separates and floated on top of the color. I just shaked it a little and tried it on my nails. It still works like brand-new. The consistency remains runny which made the application precised and easy. Not to mention the brush flares widely when glided onto my nails which is really an important thing to me because I have big nails. I'm quite impressed really. Well, it's O.P.I. I am totally getting this product's worth.

Hey I am giving love to this nail polish now. Haha. I can't believe I neglected this shade for long time. Hmmm... What do you think?

Until my next post.
